ART STUDIO, Rm 109A

Welcome to the QAE Art Studio!
The studio is located in the lower level of the "Tree house" building. Stop in and say hello on Wednesdays and Fridays to check out the fun projects that are happening in art class!

Studio Wish List

Do you want to contribute to the art studio? Well here is your chance! Below is a list of materials I am looking for :) 
* Crayola Markers (you can never have enough of those)

All grades started off the year learning expectations of the classroom and practicing "letting go". We explored 4 different songs and used line and color to express each song visually. Is this a zigzag song or a flowing wavy line song? Hmmmm.

Summer Camp- Art and Adventure!
Cost: $280. This cost includes materials and field trip expenses. Please contact Megan or Jana for scholarship information if needed.
When: July 9-13, 9:30am-3:30 pm
Grades: incoming 1st through 6th grade
Camp Size: 16 students
Who: Ms. Meg and Ms. Hunter (Art Teacher & 3/4 Teacher)
Where: Meets at QAE Art Studio, Rm 109A
Registration: Please complete the embeded document above by June 1st.


Art and Adventure:
In this camp students will embark on educational adventures both in and outside the classroom! The combination of daily themes and field trips add richness your child’s experiences as they make artistic connections to the world around them. This fun filled weeks includes:
Sands and Seas: Using our senses we will explore the smells, textures, sounds and sights of the sea through mixed media art making. Field Trip: Golden Gardens Park via Metro Bus
Earth and Wind: Students will use the nature and wind to inspire their creative projects as they face challenges of gravity, balance, form and design. Field Trip: Olympic Sculpture Park via Metro Bus
Color and Light: Campers will experiment with color mixing using light and exploring the work of artist Dale Chihuly. Field Trip: Seattle Center, Chihuly Glass Exhibit via Metro Bus

Session II (6 weeks): April 27th - June 1st 
When: Fridays, from 3:35-4:45
Grades: All grades may register; 2-5th grade recommended
Class Size: 15 students maximum, 10 student minimum
Where: QAE Art studio, Rm 109A
Cost: $75 (this includes all materials and snack)

Nature In Art and Open Studio
This art club session explores connections of art and nature in a variety of visual art projects. Students will experiment creating visual connections using techniques such as printmaking, collage, photography and more, while inspired by art history and the great outdoors!
OR-
Students can choose to use the art club time to further their individualized art endeavors. Whether it is life drawing, abstract painting, or clay, students will receive materials and guidance to accomplish their personal creative goals.
Cost: $100 (this includes material costs)
